About
First attested in English in the late 19th century, the word plane, like airplane, is derived from the French aéroplane, which comes from the Greek ἀήρ (aēr), "air" and the Latin planus, "level ", or Greek πλìνος (planos), "to wander".
Aeroplane, also known as airplane or plane, any class of heavier-than-air fixed-wing aircraft propelled by propellers or high-speed jets and supported by the dynamic reaction force of air on their wings.
The shape of an aeroplane wing makes the air move faster over the top of the wing. When the air moves faster, the pressure of the air decreases. So the pressure at the top of the wing is less than the pressure at the bottom of the wing. The pressure difference creates a force on the wing that lifts the wing into the air.
During flight, a round nose aircraft pushes the air in front of it so that it rolls across the fuselage with minimal drag. This creates a suction force that easily directs the air over the fuselage of the aircraft to minimize drag.
During the day, when the air is warmer than the ground, the noise energy from the aeroplane stays in the air, so while you can still hear it, it seems quieter. In contrast, at night, when the ground is warmer than the air, the noise is pulled down and seems louder.
The peregrine falcon is the fastest flying animal, the fastest flying animal, the fastest bird, and the fastest member of the animal kingdom. Peregrine falcons do not reach their maximum speed in horizontal flight, but in their characteristic hunting dive.
Some business jets can fly at altitudes up to 15,000 meters, and most military aeroplane can fly at this altitude or even a little higher. However, for safety reasons, these planes tend to stay below 15,000 feet because the air becomes too thin to sustain the burn of aviation fuel.
About 100,000 flights take off and land worldwide every day. Assuming that the average flight time is two hours; this means that six million people fly somewhere every day. That's almost 0.1% of the world's population.
Technically, this is known as "stall speed," where air passes over the wings fast enough to maintain altitude, which can be less than 50 km/h for small aeroplanes.
